I'm excited to share something I've been pouring my heart into: human room.

I created this because, honestly, in the middle of this loneliness pandemic, even networking events feel... hard. So much pressure to perform! Such surface level conversations that leave us feeling insecure and disconnected.

I wanted a space where we could connect authentically, without the small talk or the "what do you do?" dance.

After 5 years of emotional intelligence and somatic coaching, I've discovered the most powerful questions to cut through the noise and get right to the heart of what matters.

Human room is a chance to experience those questions in a safe and supportive space.

Ecstatic dance is an opportunity to free the mind of thoughts and judgements and surrender to the body's innate wisdom. From this space of body awareness, we invite all parts of ourselves to be danced in a ceremony of movement!
This is a free form, sober, conscious dance. We maintain social silence on the dance floor to hold a sacred container for transformation at a deeper level. No prior dance experience necessary, all movement styles welcome.

About your teacher, Raia Sunshine:

Raia Sunshine is a yoga teacher and meditation facilitator, dedicated to creating non-competitive sacred spaces where humans from any walk of life can move at their own pace and find healing through yoga, community, and conversation. Her joyful and accessible approach to vinyasa yoga promotes authenticity, intuitive movement, and innerstanding, while bridging the gaps between wellness, culture, and music. In 2018, while pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising and Retail Marketing, RaiaSunshine accidentally discovered the transformative joys and benefits of yoga. During a transitional phase in her early 20s, she felt the lingering, energizing effects of a yoga class after arriving early for another event. Her curiosity led her to ask many questions, which allowed her to experience the gift of yoga and its mental and physical transformations, both on and off the mat. This spark ignited a journey of raw awakening and spiritual healing, reconnecting her with her purpose and roots. Her passion for yoga motivated her to volunteer at yoga studios, ultimately leading to complete her RYT 200-hr certification in 2021. Raia Sunshine was raised in a musical environment, immersed in jazz, neo-soul, R&B, or an occasional freestyle rap. She quickly recognized the impact music has on the healing within our communities. Each flow is thoughtfully paired with a curated playlist designed to enhance the connection between body, breath, and mind in an upbeat, energizing, and relevant way. The atmosphere is supportive and welcoming the moment students arrive. No matter your journey, there is always a space where you can be seen, heard, and valued. About Genevieve Ayala / An Emerald Earth

Born and raised in Connecticut, Genevieve has just returned from years of international travel living in Lake Atitlan Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Thailand, as well as time spent in Seattle WA, Austin TX, and Boulder CO.

She's bringing back the magic, ritual, ceremony, sacred tools, and transformational practices she's learned and facilitated from around the world! Back to her homeland of CT.

Genevieve has been studying and immersed in ancient shamanic priestess ritual practices in the states and internationally for the last 9 years. She is a musician, songstress, and kirtanista, and is forever a student of ancient and emergent feminine wisdom. She just returned to Connecticut, after living in Boulder, CO and Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Thailand for the last few years.

HuskyTHON 2026 @ UConn

On March 7th from 11 AM - 1 PM L.Aura of The Pearl Aura will be leading Guided Meditation Experience/Meditation Station in the Quiet room/Meditation space at HuskyTHON!

What is HuskyTHON? It is the largest student-run organization at UConn, where they fundraise year round for Connecticut Children's (CCMC). To celebrate the year long efforts and the patients at Connecticut Children's, they have a culminating 18 hour dance marathon. This 18 hour dance marathon, is their "Night Of," is packed full of dancing, zumba, inflatables, vendors, and endless activities for over 4,000 participants to partake in and stay engaged throughout the day.
